Liz Velazquez has worked both in the private and public sector managing her own successful business for several years and also as a supervisor for several offices of a not for profit organization, where she trained other social workers in assisting families in need using government funded programs.  She has a degree from the University of California, Davis in Socio/Cultural Anthropology with an emphasis in human relations, interaction and communication.  She is licensed in the State of North Carolina as a therapeutic foster parent and received training in handling struggling children with mental, emotional and physical challenges.  As a Guardian Ad Litem in the State of North Carolina, she has represented abused and neglected children in the court system.  She been trained as a facilitator by the Merton Institute for their Bridges to Contemplative Living seminars - designed to help young people and adults develop a closer understanding of themselves, others, nature and God.  She is also a certified level three instructor for the Radiant Child Yoga program, which involves assisting children in becoming in tuned with their mind, body and spirit through yoga using music, storytelling and play.  She has played competitive tennis for years, as well as pickleball, racquetball and other sports.  She loves to share these activities with children and families.  Liz resides in Robbinsville, North Carolina.
