Allen Stevenson

Allen has 40 years of experience in educational endeavors, including teaching in schools in Atlanta, Georgia; serving as Director of Bios Environmental Education Camp; and co-director of Discovery Quest-a residential treatment facility for severely emotionally troubled and abused children.  All of this experience has instilled in him an abiding faith in the power of the experience of nature to affect self-understanding, the power of myth and story to capture imagination, the power of laughter to lighten the load and the power of love to heal the human community.  He has led environmental study trips to the canyons of the west, the swamps and coasts of the southeast and the Carolina mountains which he calls home.  He currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Office of Economic Opportunity of Catholic Social Services.  Allen is retired, and lives with his wife, Lynda, at their cove in Graham County, NC.
